BobCon 2010 Wrap-Up

Overall, the convention was a success. The exit poll indicated that a good time was had by all and a whole lot of games were played. Many of the games sent by AEG, Mayfair, Rio Grande and Fantasy Flight got good reviews by the players and a couple were played multiple times. Another indiciation of the Con's success was that we were able to cover all of our expenses – and have a little bit left over to put towards next year's event!

BobCon 2010 DragonWith only eight more days until BobCon, the Event Registration has finally gone live! We have tried to upgrade the BobCon Website to make it both more professional and more user friendly. Brad Kelley has done a tremendous job implementing all of the changes we have had in the past year. One of the biggest, and most difficult, is the new registration system. It is not quite perfect yet, but it is alive and ready for you to go register for events.

Events List 2010New, exciting events have been added to the schedule. We have a week left before event submission closes and registration begins. There looks to be a lot of activities from which to choose (maybe the most events we had yet).

Now let's spotlight a few of these events:

The Wine Tasting

Back by popular demand, the Friday Night Wine Tasting returns to BobCon. There is no entrance feel this year. To participate, bring a bottle of wine (your favorite if possible) and an appetizer that goes with it. If you are unable to do this or decide to attend at the last minute a $5 donation will be accepted contingent on there being enough wine.

Last year this event was a huge success and made for a fun and interesting Settlers of Catangame, which followed. Both of these components are again in place, so we'll have to see if tradition holds.

Sponsor's Events

This year BobCon has received a boatload of games from various manufacturers due to the hard work of Terry Eldred. These include games from Rio GrandeAEG and White Wolf, just to name a few. Each of the board or card games provided is on the Event Schedule so that you have an opportunity to learn how to play these great games. Be sure to check them out.

Lastly, we want to remind you to RSVP if you know whether or not you'll be attending BobCon. Please don't wait until you are ready to sign up for events. The BobCon Council is working hard to ensure we have everything we need in order to accommodate our turn out – but we need to know how many people to expect. Help us to make BobCon the best experience possible by taking a moment to send in your RSVP.

Also, if you are planning to invite a friend or two to this year's BobCon be sure to list them on your RSVP or, even better, have them sign up on our Mailing List so that we will have their names AND they will receive these BobCon Updates, sign up for events, etc.
